The Surrey Guild of Horticultural Judges and Lecturers held their last year’s AGM on Sunday, March 12th 2016 at Compton Village Hall. The meeting started with the then Chairman, Brian Deaville saying that he would be retiring from the position of Chair for the following year and Geoff Peach was duly elected to take on that role. After the election of the committee members for the forthcoming year, we received a report from Sheila Rapley, our Secretary. A Treasurer’s report for the financial year January – December 2016 was presented.
After the formalities of the AGM, members enjoyed a well-earned cup of tea and a slice of cake which was made by Christine Knight, our Vice Chair.
Geoff presented Brian with a farewell gift on behalf of the members and wished him well. Brian has agreed to be our President Emeritus.
Following our refreshment break, members were given a talk and slide show of some wonderful spring flowers from across the world.
