Chris and Bill Knight leave the Committee

Chris and Bill Knight have sadly decided to retire from the Guild committee. They have both been members of the committee for many years, having joined the committee back in 2011. Chris later became Vice Chair in 2016, and hosted our committee meetings in their house in Ash Green. This hard decision has been made with the intention of slowing down a bit – Bill has even given up his Scout leader duties which he has been doing for many years, so we are not the only group that will be missing him.

Both Chris and Bill always took a full part in committee meetings, making suggestions and forwarding their ideas and views, often with humour and always with good grace. A real asset to the committee. They were always willing to help with any of the various tasks that keep the Guild running. In fact, for the last few years, they have organised the venue and teas for the AGM.

A bit of a silver lining is that they are happy to carry on with their judging roles, which is great news as they are highly regarded by the flower show organisers in the area, and it means that we should get to see them again on the circuit.

I would like to thank both Chris and Bill for their years of service to the Guild, on the committee and ongoing as judges. Their good natured enthusiasm will be very hard to replace.

Geoff Peach,
Chairman
