Flower Shows during COVID-19

Flower Shows during COVID-19

What a strange time we are living in, but at least gardeners usually have some outside space to be able to spend time in. It is peculiar that when the telephone rings or I receive an email it has always been to cancel a Flower Show or a seeking engagement, fortunately nearly all societies are rebooking for next year, I can’t remember having such a full diary for so far ahead. This is obviously the typically upbeat attitude of the average gardener, I have always felt that gardeners are the most optimistic people I have ever met. With any luck we will get back to normal by next year.

I have been able to get on with a couple of more major tasks in the garden that I have been putting off for far to long, using the excuse that I didn’t have time. The routine jobs like cleaning the filters on the fish pond are even getting done more often.

Keep up the good work. I understand that most allotment sites are still open, which has to be a good thing.

Let’s hope the weather doesn’t let us down now and we start to get more reasonable rain falls which allow us to get the best from our gardens.

Best wishes and keep safe,

Geoff Peach
